FAU SECME SCHOLARSHIPS – DEADLINE MARCH 5
Awards of $3,000 per year are available to a limited number of students from SECME High Schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Selection Criteria: Students must meet the academic requirements for admission to FAU and have participated in the SECME program. Renewable for up to four years based on academic achievement. Applicants must also achieve a minimum score of 1450 (all three sections) on the SAT or a 21 on the ACT and submit the items listed below.

HICKS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT – DEADLINE APRIL 17
Selection Criteria: Undergraduate students who are residents of Ft. Lauderdale and enrolled in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, the College of Business, or the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

LAWRENCE P. AND DOROTHY E. DELISLE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – DEADLINE APRIL 17
Students seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees in the following areas are eligible to apply: Business, Science, Biomedical, Nursing, Education, Engineering or Computer Science, Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs.
Selection Criteria: Students must be Florida residents with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need.

LIFELONG LEARNING SCHOLARSHIPS – DEADLINE JULY 29
Four $1000 scholarships to juniors or seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA majoring in engineering or computer science.
Selection Criteria: Cumulation of student’s GPA, community/school service and financial need weighed as follows: 50% GPA, 20% service and 30% financial need.

CAMP DRESSER & MCKEE (CDM) CIVIL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP – DEADLINE OCT 3

AT&T SCHOLARSHIP
$1,000 awarded per term for a limit of 4 terms to an FAU electrical engineering student that maintains a minimum GPA of 3.3. Preference is given to minorities and deserving and academically qualified non-traditional-age women studying electrical engineering.

RACAL-DATACOM AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
$1,000 shall be awarded annually to an outstanding student entering the senior year of a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering that posesses financial need, academic achievement and involvement, and interest in the telecommunications field. Extra consideration will be given to minority or female applicants and to applicants who have not previously received a scholarship at FAU. All nominees and applicants for the Award must give consent to Racal-Datacom Inc. and the FAU Foundation, Inc. to use student’s name and photographic likeness in promotional materials.

RAYMOND MCALLISTER OCEAN ENGINEERING FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP
$250 academic scholarship awarded each fall to two students with the highest GPA and SAT, (40% GPA, 60% SAT) among entering freshmen.
DENYS AKHURST OCEAN ENGINEERING JUNIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$500 academic scholarship awarded during Fall Student Welcome Event to an entering OE junior with the highest FAU GPA. This is based upon completion of and performance in Fundamentals of Engineering, Calculus I, II, III, Engineering Graphics, C for Engineers, Chemistry I & Physics I and II, Statics, Introduction to Logic Design, and Engineering Math I.
J.M. RUBIN OCEAN ENGINEERING TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
$500 academic scholarship awarded in the fall to two students with the highest GPA (100% GPA) among entering transfer students.
J.M. RUBIN OCEAN ENGINEERING SOPHOMORE SCHOLARSHIP
$500 academic scholarship awarded during Fall Student Welcome Event to two students entering their sophomore year in Ocean Engineering with highest GPA after completing 30 credits in the program.
J.M. RUBIN OCEAN ENGINEERING SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP
$500 academic scholarship awarded in the fall based upon completion of and performance in Dynamics, Vibrations, Fluids I, OE Lab, Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Acoustics I, Structural Analysis I, Circuits or equivalent, Electronics I or equivalent, Materials I, Fabrication of OE systems, Engineering Math II, Logic Design, Ocean Thermal Systems and Oceanography coursework.
MILTON AND GLADYS MEISNER SCHOLARSHIP FUND – DEADLINE APRIL 17
Scholarship awarded to students in architecture, ocean engineering or pharmaceutical programs that may be in place.
Selection Criteria: Recipients must be in their junior or senior year and demonstrate financial need.

SOCIETY OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS & MARINE ENGINEERS (SNAME) SCHOLARSHIP
Four $1,000 awards to SNAME student members enrolled in ocean engineering with the highest overall GPA’s.
CHARLES STEPHAN AWARD
Two Faculty selected awards presented in Spring semester for excellence in academic achievement to (1) a student graduating with BS in Ocean Engineering, based on highest overall GPA (80%) and Senior Design Project (20%) and (2) a student receiving either an MS or PhD, based on overall GPA (70%) and achievement in thesis or dissertation work (30%).
WILLIAM TESSIN AWARD
A student–recognized leadership award presented in Spring semester to a graduating Ocean Engineering senior, based on personal leadership qualities (50%), practical abilities (25%) and overall GPA (25%).
